The art of Miguel Angel Guerrero Garro

Angel Guerrero Garro is able to capture the natural elements of the Universe: space, time and the warmth of the light are combined into an object vision that liberate the landscape of subjective interpretations and manages to bring the viewer before the purity of nature that needs no further explanation. The artist disappears unto the representation y preserves an instant of creation. The landscape dissolves the instant it is captured: the artist becomes a “crisol” fortuitous of a visual language.

Behind the apparent simplicity there exists a strict (vigorous) technique that reaches the essence of elements that make up the landscape: the twilight sun reverberates on the leaves of trees or goes beyond the tree trunks in a wood clearing. And the mid-day light shines on the ocean surface unifying the atmosphere of whites, grays and blues, bringing back to the viewer the splendor of a majestic landscape. The transparency of light and the direction of the sunrays are the equivalent of a precise, geographic coordinate: the peaceful strength of nature is so vivid and present that the Mexican countryside is perfectly recognizable. At the same time he recuperates the tradition established by José María Velasco and Dr. Atl, though even more than these, that of the English romantics such as Constable and Turner. With absolute mastery Angel Guerrero recuperates an impossible naturalism in an epoch where artists only reflect their interior ghosts. He transports the viewer right into the landscape.
